There are over 800 kids in foster care in Stanislaus County. Every number has a name. Every name has a story.

Our Love Our Kids team in Waterford supports the efforts of our sister organization, Love Stanislaus County's (LSC) Kids Program. We receive family referrals through LSCs Kids Program through their relationships with Family Protective Services, and through our partnerships with Waterford agencies like Waterford Unified School District, the Sheriff Department, and other trusted partners.

What do the families referred to us have in common? They have all been vetted by our partners, and they are all in need of a little LOVE. Often, these families are rebuilding their lives and have little to no personal belongings and lack a support system. While other agencies have helped them secure housing, they need help finding furniture for their house/apartment. Our team helps find and transport donated furniture, appliances, and other needed items. We also purchase needed items that we can't get donated.

Join the Team

If you are willing to support a local family or single parent who is struggling, consider joining our Love Our Kids team. As a part of this team, you will pick up and deliver needed items, and act as a friend and support system to the family. Contact us to let us know you're interested, and we will be happy to meet and share more information.

Donate Furniture & Appliances

Families who are referred to us are often rebuilding their lives, and have little to no personal belongings. If you have gently used items to donate, please let us know and we would be happy to help find a new home for the items with a family in need. Please understand that we do not have the ability to store large items and making arrangements for delivery can take up to two weeks. Contact us to let us know what you'd like to donate.

Sometimes there are items we cannot get donated and we need to purchase them instead. The most common item we have to purchase is matresses. You can ensure children in our community have a bed to sleep on and other necessities making a donation.

If you're interested in helping deliver furniture and other needed items outside of Waterford, or becoming a CASA or resource parent, we encourage you to get in touch with Love Stanislaus County's Kids Program. They are always in need of delivery drivers, and they can help guide you through the process of becoming a CASA or resource parent.
