Sierra Vista Family Resources

The Waterford branch of Sierra Vista provides a variety of support services, and is able to assist those in need in attaining a variety of other help and resources. Their local services include the following: support groups for parents; parenting classes; pregnancy and infant care classes; youth mental health support groups; literacy classes for children under the age of five; CalFresh assistance (food stamps); referrals for legal help, transportation assistance; child care; housing and homelessness assistance.

Livingston Community Health

Livingston Community Health is a non-profit community owned health center providing comprehensive primary and preventive health care services to all patients regardless of their ability to pay.

Services include pediatric health, adult medicine, women's health, management of acute and chronic diseases, urgent needs, and behavioural health.

Behavioral Health & Recovery Services

Call 1-888-376-6246 to access county program information, or schedule an assessment for mental health or substance use disorder services.


  • El Concilio : They also have several programs run out of their Modesto location: free and low-cost bilingual citizenship preparation and immigration legal services, adult education services, and behavioral health and recovery services.
  • Nami: Nami provides a variety of support groups and mental health support services for families. 
  • BHRS: Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services provides integrated mental health services to adults and older adults with a serious mental illness and to children and youth with a serious emotional disturbance. BHRS also provides outpatient and residential alcohol and drug treatment and prevention services and serves as Stanislaus County’s Public Guardian.

Let your case/social worker know you and your family are experiencing homelessness. If you do not have a case/social worker, visit Community Service Agency, 251 Hackett Rd. Modesto, CA 95358. They will help in assisting you and your family with aid such as cash aid, food stamps, medi-cal, and see if you qualify for one of their homeless programs.

Contact other agencies that assist with shelter.​ Families are strongly encouraged to contact Family Promise, Modesto Gospel Mission, or Turlock Gospel Mission. When contacting these agencies and you reach their voice mail, leave a detailed message and include your name, phone number and any additional contact information.
